HIP Video Promo Presents: The Dead Daisies release brand new music video "Lift Me Up"

The Dead Daisies Return With a Reshaped Lineup and New Single “Lift Me Up”

SYDNEY, AUSTRALIA, October 19, 2026 /EINPresswire.com/ -- Thirty-five years after playing together in Hurricane, guitarist Doug Aldrich and vocalist Kelly Hansen are making music together again. Their reunion comes as The Dead Daisies open a new chapter with “Lift Me Up,” a hard-rock single that introduces Hansen as frontman and offers the first glimpse of an album in progress.

Following a relatively quiet 2026, which included the Glenn Hughes-fronted The Purple Daisies, the band has reshaped its lineup. Hansen joins after 20 years with Foreigner, alongside Aldrich on lead guitar, David Lowy on rhythm guitar, and Tommy Clufetos on drums. Jimi Crutchley takes over bass duties from Michael Devin. Hansen had already made clear that leaving Foreigner did not mean retiring from music. “This project allows me to stretch out with some new melodies, a new vibe and fresh energy,” Hansen says. His history with Aldrich provides a familiar starting point, but the focus is firmly on the songs they are making now.

“Lift Me Up” began with what Aldrich calls a simple guitar riff and heavy groove. That foundation drives a melodic hard-rock track whose lyrics tell a more intimate story than the title might suggest. There is a spinning room, a pair of shaking hands, a late checkout and a taxi waiting outside. Two people share a brief connection, knowing they will soon say goodbye. Neither tries to prolong the encounter or offer a grand explanation, giving the song its understated emotional tension. The chorus asks to be lifted high, if only for a minute, before being brought down gently.
Aldrich connects that fleeting moment to a wider feeling: “It’s very melodic, and the lyric reflects positively and a vibe to lift us up in these crazy times.” The song finds its optimism in something temporary rather than pretending everything can be fixed. Its guitar-driven momentum keeps that sentiment from becoming overly sentimental.

The accompanying music video uses live footage, leaning into the energy and swagger that have long defined The Dead Daisies. With the band performing rather than following a scripted storyline, it is a direct, performance-focused introduction to Hansen’s presence at the microphone. The approach suits a group whose songs, including “Long Way to Go” and “Mexico,” remain central to its hard-rock identity.
The Dead Daisies plan to finish the new album during the remainder of 2026 before heading out on a global tour in 2027. European and UK dates begin March 4 in Bochum, Germany, with The Quireboys and The Gems as special guests. The US leg starts April 30 in Lititz, Pennsylvania, with BulletBoys and The Fell featuring Billy Sheehan. The new material and scheduled shows give Aldrich and Hansen their first opportunity in decades to build a future onstage together.
